Brisa Café

Brisa is a café attached to the Catarina Moda Shopping mall in Brusque, in southern Brazil, with an indoor room and a garden open to the public.

The goal

A one-page site that answers what someone looking for a café wants to know: what’s on the counter, what the place is like, where it is and whether it’s open right now.

Visual concept

Coffee and caramel tones, headings in Young Serif and body text in Figtree. The photo of the room has rounded corners, with a second photo, of a cup, layered on top in a light frame. Buttons are pill-shaped, with the WhatsApp icon.

Design and technical decisions

  • The site works out whether Brisa is open from its opening hours and says when it opens again, as in “Fechado agora. Abre amanhã às 8h” (closed now, opens tomorrow at 8am).
  • It has light and dark themes that follow the visitor’s device settings.
  • The footer credits the photos: third-party ones are public domain or CC BY-SA, and the rest belong to Brisa.
  • Built with Astro, with self-hosted fonts, a sitemap and animations that respect people who prefer less motion.
